| Help from current Comcast Employees |
[Jun. 26th, 2007|11:30 am] |
If any of you current workers could do me a favor... When Stephanie and I were living at a friends house to *help* them out since they couldn't afford their house payment, I transferred my email accounts onto their Comcast account. My accounts became their primary and secondary. After a while they did some shady stuff and were total a-holes which led Stephanie and I to being forced to leave 6 mo's prior to our agreement. Anyway, today I can't get into my accounts. When I try to do the "forgot password" deal on comcast.net it tells me the user id's aren't in an active status. This leads me to believe that they must've moved/deleted my accts/ or npdx'd. Whichever is the case, can you lovely people let me know if possible what the status of my two email addresses are? Of course now since they're associated with their acct I can't get them back so that sucks major balls. Unfortunately I don't have a new acct in my name yet or I'd have just blind xferred them over (so what if that would've disabled their acct, they're bastards). Anyway, the accts in question are: "ke7bo" and "test.ke7bo" at comcast.net. I had these accts for 5 years so this sucks but life goes on. Just need to update everything now (ebay, paypal, car loan, cc's. etc).
Grr. In better news. I start my new job tomorrow. Yeah, no more being a bum! |

| Jobless! |
[May. 2nd, 2007|09:41 pm] |
Quit my job today without notice. Got tired of being treated so horribly. Plus they screwed me on my raise/bonuses. Lame business.
So! I'm on the hunt again! Re-applied at Comcast for the call center. Also applied with Verizon and the city of Marysville (city job is what I was doing up until today but for 1200 more a month). Wish me luck peoples!
Oh and I started at the gym yesterday. Maybe if my results are decent enough I'll post a log. Or at least scary before and after shots of me topless. YUM (well I assume the after will be anyway)! |

| Kinda neat (for current Comcast employees). |
[Mar. 18th, 2007|09:11 pm] |
So my friend picked up a new hdtv today. Very nice, all the bells and whistles. He has plain 'ol basic cable no dcts. With the auto scan his tv picks up the normal analog channels. Nothing too odd there. But then it also finds like 88 digital channels (no he doesn't have a cable card). The digital channels show up not as normal solid #'d channels but as X.yz channels. Here's the fun part about those "digital" channels:
* Gets the HD broadcasts of the locals, kcts and etc. Nothing too weird there (no their not coming over the air). * Gets the community access channels for Marysville, Arlington, Edmonds, and like 3 other cities. They turn up on something like 98.1 - 98.6. * Gets the barker for VOD, of course we can't see the MS guide, but can see the little adverts. * Can see the Logo/BG for the VOD games channel. * Can see the Logo that (I think) plays during PPV's "thank you for choosing comcast..." * Some airport camera for Sea-Tac
But the most fun thing off all that we can see in these *sub* stations...
What people around are watching on VOD. Yep that's right. On channel 94.4 we've got "The Prestige", 94.8 we've got some charlie sheen movie, 94.10 we have some show from that "Something Weird" category. And yes I guarantee it is VOD stuff people are watching because earlier one of the channels had some rap videos and *whoever* was watching it was pausing, fast forwarding etc.
Too bad I don't have a way of knowing when/what people will be watching or I could see some free movies. :D
Thought this was kinda cool so I'm sharing. Oh, I'm being told that now someone is watching FEARnet. Awesome.
*Edit*
HaHaHa... Now someone is watching what looks like a sequel to "Busty Cops" (no don't ask how I know the title of the first one. We flip to the channel and there's boobage going on. Then it gets to a non-boobage scene... So *whoever* in the neiborhood (on the node?) is watching it starts fast-forwarding to the next boob scene. PRICELESS!
I need a mega-phone so I can cruise the neighborhood asking who's watching Porn on demand |

| Question for *Comcasters* |
[Mar. 8th, 2007|11:31 pm] |
Stephanie and I are going to be moving into a different friends house for a few months. His modem/router are too far away for me to get a decent signal with my wifi card in my pc (because the router and my card are both garbage). I'm sure the Wii will be fine, but the 360s wifi adapter to buy is like 100$ plus I'd still need a better router. As opposed to wasting a bundle of money on new hardware, I'm thinking of getting a second HSI account at the address. Are there any promos that I could be hooked up with for the time of my residence? Or will I be screwed into the fully 58$/mo? Hook a rejected wanna be comcaster up!?!?! Does the going and buying a SIK scam work with a 2nd internet at same address thing... Aaaah help me bitcholas!
Now for non-post related blah blah...
Oh, and Brian... Your post about spiders coming out of your grapefruit is disgusting. I'm glad that I don't eat grapefruit. Or spiders for that matter.
And Dave. Hey how's it going? I'm mad Sanjaya (or whatever) didn't get the boot. Stephanie got her wish with that internet scandal girl getting voted off. I think Sanjaya shoulda got voted out and the kid who sang that Dragonfly song (and got booted) a few weeks ago should be in his place. Why oh why am I actually watching this show beyond the audition round this year!?! |

| Test time! |
[Jan. 18th, 2007|08:15 pm] |

Got my call today to come in and do the pre-employment testing tomorrow. Hopefully I do well enough and they say "have a job Mr." Then I'll just have to worry about telling my current boss the news... And dodge punches and cursing. |

| Danged video scheduler! |
[Jan. 6th, 2007|04:34 pm] |
Growl. So I called to update the cable here at the house to digital and 2 DVRs. This was 2 wks ago. Soonest quota I was offered was for today 2-4pm. Should have worked out great since I have weekends off. Well being the good ex worker bee that I am, I waited til 4pm to call to find out an eta for my tech. Rep in Video tells me that the apt was scheduled for 12-4 monday the 8th. Really annoying since I re-confirmed twice with the rep that the 6th was perfect since I have WEEKENDS off.
So... Long story short. I had to twist the arm of the rep on the phone tonite for my 20$ ontime guarantee. Also had to do (imo) arm twisting for a quota request for tomorrow (which I highly doubt will happen). Guess I'll have to waste 8hrs vacation time and sit around all day again Monday.
This makes me sad inside. :(
Guess I'll go move all the tv stands back to the walls now and re-hook the cable up to the tvs... |

So I applied to Comcast for a field tech position. Wish me luck peoples... Current job is poopy. Now if you'll excuse me I'm headed back to drink as many more of my 12-pack of Mikes Lemonade as possible. Today is my once every 2 mo.'s drinking time. :) |

| Weekend nerdiness! |
[Aug. 17th, 2006|11:09 pm] |
Weekend nerd to do list:
Friday night: Play "Zombies!!!" with some of the old Comcast crew. This should be fun, assuming I can figure out how to play without annoying the veterans.
Saturday: Read my new graphic novel that I bought today from Comic Stop. "Recess Pieces." School kids and zombies, what's not to like? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1593074506/sr=8-1/qid=1155881353/ref=pd_bbs_1/002-0189653-3420066?ie=UTF8 This was an impulse buy so hopefully it's decent.
Sunday: Assuming I get around to hooking up the VCR, *maybe* I'll watch my tape I bought at the thrift store today. No spoilers from any nerds who may have seen this before. Tape in question is: "Mazes and Monsters." Appears to be an old Tom Hanks movie that has many similarities to Dungeons and Dragons. Hope it doesn't suck too badly.
Go nerdy weekend! |

| Like the intro to the Simpsons... |
[Jul. 31st, 2006|03:58 pm] |
As I was walking through the hallway to my apartment after work today I saw a little piece of notebook paper sticking out of each persons door. At first I wondered if the photo-copier at the management office was broken. Then I wondered if a resident just wanted to put some random hate message on each persons door. Either way I was going to be jealous if there wasn't anything on my door.
Instead of my guesses, instead I got a note from some child who's parent forced them to write the same note to each resident (that's probably like 120 notes for my building). Check out some good discipline:

| Comic Book Action! |
[Jul. 30th, 2006|03:03 pm] |
| [ | Current Mood |
| | cheerful | ] | A big thanks to The Comic Stop (it's a comic shop). Or maybe they should thank me for my $$$?
Anyway, yesterday they had a big sale: 50% off back issues, 10% off current stuff, 20% of trades, and 50% off toys. Since I have a pull box (they pull the particular series I want and put them in my box) with them which includes 10% off on trades and new comics, I got 30% off during the sale on trades and 20% on new stuff.
So what did I get?
Ultimate Spiderman back issues: 28-32, 39-59, and 61-69. At 50% off, this was a perfect time to start collecting the *real* issues of this series. Of course it'll be ages before I can afford the first 10 issues (that is if I want first printings), but I should be able to fill in the rest of the gaps. For around 45-50$ this was a great deal (to me anyway, and I didn't even have to bag/board them). :) :) :)
Halo Graphic Novel (hardback). This book is $25. I was going to wait until the soft cover came out because $25 is a bit rich for my blood. For $17.50 (after discount), it was a no brainer. Well considering it'll be a few months (I'm guessing) until the paperback version comes out, not to mention it'll still be like 17.99. Why not get the superior version sooner and cheaper.
Ultimate Iron Man (hardback). At $20, again too much for Kevin. Considering my comic budget it's too much anyway. But, at $14 after discount, why not splurge a bit.
I also picked up some minimates. At $3.50, they're a good deal.
So all in all, my comic trip was great. Unfortunately, since that was my first stop of the day all other stores seemed to expensive. I went into Toys 'R Us and Target and things just seemed overpriced without 50% off. ;) |

| Lady In the Water |
[Jul. 22nd, 2006|01:47 am] |
Maybe a rental, or borrow from someone else. Don't recommend seeing it in the theater. The way things get changed up in the story as the movie plays out reminds me of when I was a kid (well and now) and playing with action figures. As far as direction of changing up the story and such is concerned. Anyway, it's 1:50Am and I've been up for 22hrs so I'm too lazy to bitch too much. It just wasn't nearly anywhere close to what I'd have expected. Definitely not on par with his other work in my opinion. The movies twenty-something percent score on rotten tomatoes is being generous.
I could have easily came up with the basic concept and flow for this movie. Hell, like I said similar stories (as far as characters and direction they took, and switcheroos and such) were told playing with Joes and He-Man figures when I was a kid. Bleh. |

And the tally for damages to my car are: $2500.xx. Youch! Thank goodness for insurance. Unfortunately because I still have a loan they can't cut the checks directly to me (one for interior carpet/stereo and one for exerior. Anyway The interior stuff will definitely be done soon. Hopefully the parts dont take forever to come. Window will be fixed on thursday. As for the exterior, who knows... Fortunately my deductible was taken out on the exterior check so there's no rush. ;) |

| What time is it!? |
[Jul. 11th, 2006|04:12 pm] |
Sheesh I just stopped by the computer to see what's on limited cable tonite. Yes, check on the computer. That's what people have to do that either a: don't work for the cable company, or b: don't want to spend 100$+ a month (yet).
Anyway, it's only 4:15PM. Geez this job is still sending me for loops some days. Granted I got off early today (worked 6-3) so that's part of it. I still have the whole afternoon before I can consider worrying about primetime.
I'm bored. Come home Stephanie! AZ isn't as exciting as me... well maybe, but still!
Guess I'll go play with the new Sigma 6 toys I bought today. Maybe I'll even drink that MUG rootbeer that I bought. YUM! |

| In the news |
[Jul. 9th, 2006|08:52 pm] |
My crappy apt complex is in the news for all the breakins and such: http://www.king5.com/localnews/stories/NW_070906WABcamelottheftsJK.40b5e19a.html
Secure apt my ass. Well, at least they didn't steal my tires. And of the 8 vehicles listed in that story, at least one of them was in my building. Came home from whatever at like 1am a few weeks ago and saw the vehicle. These idiots need to get a job.
Just home my insurance covers a decent amount of my loss. And I can't wait to move. |

| | bored | ] | Right now I crave a giant 64oz fountain drink from AM/PM. A mug rootbeer to be exact. Unfortunately I'm too lazy to go get one. That and I don't want to listen to the anoying plastic rattle noise as I drive. *sadness* |

| Break In! :( |
[Jul. 8th, 2006|04:33 pm] |
Ok, first off, don't know how this got here:
------ It's 6:00PM. I've already been home for an hour and a half. Now this is a ------
I was typing about my break in and then the computer did weirdness and that popped in. I'd assume it was a copy paste deal. However, I just turned on the pc so there's nothing stored on the clipboard. Creepy thing is I just got home at 4:30pm. Is something going to happen at 6pm? Scary.
Anyway...
To the person that decided they needed my car stereo more than me-
Thanks so much for breaking out my passenger window, scratching up my rear passenter door, scraping apart the molding, stealing my stereo, amp, getting glass all over the place... etc etc. Ever heard of a slim jim? $1 at the dollar store. Would have saved me a lot of trouble w/cleanup and repairs. Jerk. Oh and had you asked, I'd have gladly given you my stereo/amp/cig tray full of money just to save the hassle I'm going to have to go through. Not to mention the risk of my car insurance going up. Thanks again Bastard(s).

| Adventures in the wild: |
[Jun. 7th, 2006|04:40 pm] |
So far I'm doing grunt work. But that's more than ok with me. I'm probably burning more calories in an hour at the new job than I did in most of the day at Comcast. To have an idea of how hard I'm working (in a gross way), here's an example: today before work I had a glass of water, while working I drank 4 dasani 20 ouncers and 1 1.5 liter of aquafina. Right now I could pee, but it'd probably only be like half a bladder. That's how much I'm sweating with this *man* work. ;)
Today I was on my own weed-eating down a jungle of grass, weeds, and sticker bushes. I was doing this in one of those water run-off ditch things. This particular one was probably about 60'x60'. Pretty darn big. And the slope to the middle/bottom was prolly about 12' deep. So I got my leg workout and my arm workout. Due to some technical difficulties it took me about 5 hours. My arms were like jelly when I was done. Along the way I stepped into what became a sinkhull and flipped backwards landing on my back. Fun times! Thankfully there were no stumps where I fell. Once I was done with all that I ended up being super push broom boy. My jello arms became even more gelatin like. :) It's worth it though because I'm already building arm muscle.
Anyway, back to the title... When I was doing the weed-eating I came across two super infested ant colonies. Both became quite pissed off at me. One mouse. And two gartner snakes (no I didn't count the same one twice, there were two within like a ten foot area).
So now it's 4:50 and I'm done for the day. This is great. :) Hopefully my burns will turn into a nice tan in a week or so.
Anyway, off to clean the work stink off.
Comcast called while I was at work, so afterwards I need to check to make sure they put my cable where it's supposed to be. If so I have to unhook my DVR. Hopefully my downgrade from Basic to Limited is a few days off. If anyone wanted to check that for me and let me know, that'd be great. Just wondering if I'll get to catch the season finale of Doctor Who. |

| What are you saying!? |
[Jun. 4th, 2006|03:49 am] |
|
It's 3:50AM and some guy is on his phone. He lives in the building accross from me. So, at the minimum he is at least 75 feet from my window. I can hear his phone. I can hear him. It might be more entertaining if they were speaking english and I could understand what they're so engaged in. Sure it's 4PM wherever you're calling bub, but here, people are trying to sleep. Shut the fuck up. |
